Shortcut key
First of all, let’s talk about shortcut keys. Shortcut keys are the most effective way for us to increase efficiency in the process of using the computer. An operation that requires several mouse clicks may be completed instantly by a set of shortcut keys. You can complete tasks without using them, but it will be better when you learn them.
Here I have selected some very practical operations for everyone.
1. Document Management
Let me first talk about how to use shortcut keys to process files efficiently in the file manager. When opening the manager, in addition to the mouse click, the Win+E key combination can also open quickly. This is super convenient for friends who often use file management.
When multiple selections of files are needed, hold down shift and then click with the mouse to select all files within the range of two files, while hold down Ctrl+click to select multiple files one by one.
When you need to rename a file, you don’t have to click on the far and difficult rename option. The most convenient way is to select it and use the shortcut key F2 to rename it. If you operate in a multi-selected state, you can also rename in batches.
2. Lock the screen
Compared with sleeping mode, locking the screen will not pause the process. This function is very useful when your computer is processing tasks and you don't want others to see it. The operation is also very simple, just use the shortcut key Win+L to complete it.
3. Quickly display the desktop
After working for a period of time, we will inevitably leave a bunch of windows on the screen. Using the mouse to minimize is time-consuming and laborious, even a bit maddening.
Two shortcut keys are recommended here, namely Win+D and Win+M. The difference is that Win+D hides all windows, and you can press it again to return to the state before hiding.
Meanwhile, Win+M minimizes all windows. If it is a program that cannot be minimized, Win+M has no other way. If you want to return to the previous window state, you need to press Win+Shift+M.
In addition, if you only want to keep one window, you can also pick up that window and shake it, so that you can quickly minimize other windows and keep only the one you picked up.
4. Screenshot
When taking screenshots on Win10, many people will use the screenshot function of the software, not to mention that it is inconvenient, at least it is impossible to take a quick screenshot instantly.
The screenshot function of Win10 can be more convenient and quicker. Here are two shortcut keys recommended:
The first one is to use Win+PrtSc. After pressing it, the screen will flash once to indicate that the screenshot is successful. The screenshot will be copied to the clipboard, and it will also be automatically saved in the file manager-picture-screenshot.
This method is very suitable for capturing some fleeting pictures, such as games, movies, and will not affect the next operation at all.
The second method is to use the key combination Win+Shift+S, which can take the rectangular, customized, window and full-screen capture.
The screenshot will be copied on the clipboard, but will not be saved in the folder.
If you have captured multiple screens at once, you can also call up the clipboard to view all the copied and cut content. The shortcut key is Win+V.
5. Window management
There are two options, the first is the more common Alt+Tab or Win+number keys to switch windows.
The most wonderful thing about the former is that you can quickly switch between the two windows, while the latter can open the correspondingly sorted windows on the taskbar.
It is also effective for windows fixed on the taskbar, and it will be very convenient when you have your own set of taskbar layout usage habits.
But you may have such an experience that when playing a large scale full-screen game, there will be a strong sense of fragmentation when changing around multiple applications on one desktop, such as the game window that cannot be minimized, or the game cannot be loaded again after it is minimized.
So the second method is to directly use two desktops, one for playing games, and the other for finding strategies, watching videos, and chatting.
We can click the button in the lower-left corner of the taskbar or press Win+Tab to enter the task window, where we can not only manage the window, but also view the timeline and manage the virtual desktop.
The entrance of the virtual desktop is at the top of the task window. Click new desktop or Win+Ctrl+D to create a virtual desktop, so that we can use multiple desktops at the same time.
If you are a laptop user, you might as well try more convenient and quicker touchpad gestures, and directly swipe left or right with four fingers to switch the desktop.
Touchpad
Speaking of the touchpad, although the touchpad of Windows 10 is not easy to use, many people only use the touchpad as a temporary replacement for the mouse.
But in fact, learning the Windows 10 touchpad can also bring a lot of conveniences.
On the touchpad of Windows 10, you can use one to four fingers to perform gesture operations. One finger operation is simple click and drag, we mainly look at the multi-finger gesture operation.
The first is two fingers. Clicking at the same time is equivalent to the operation of the right mouse button, and sliding up and down with two fingers is equivalent to the mouse wheel. Pinch or spread the two fingers to achieve zoom in and zoom out.
If you increase to three-finger operation, the default setting of a three-finger click can start the search function of Windows, which is equivalent to Win+S. We can rely on this to open most of the windows and functions of the computer.
And swipe up with three fingers to enter the task window, which is equivalent to Win+Tab, and then swipe down to return to the previous interface.
While sliding down directly is to display the desktop, sliding up again can return to the previous interface. Three-finger sliding left and right can switch windows, which is equivalent to the shortcut key Alt+Tab.
Then there is a four-finger operation, directly clicking with four fingers to enter the control center.
Here I recommend setting one of the three fingers or four fingers to adjust the volume, so that the volume control can be completed on the touchpad in the future, and you can quickly slide down to mute quickly, which, you can easily respond to emergencies.
