Introduction

LG is confident that the V30's camera is the device's strongest selling point, even though the screen may be the most noticeable technological difference. True to its word, LG put in a lot of work to make one of the most advanced camera phones on the market. Apertures are easy to understand for photographers, and the largest one we've seen on a smartphone so far is f/1.6. On the other hand, Samsung's competitors have only gotten to f/1.7 since the Galaxy S7's original launch early last year.

Light from the lens is admitted to the detector via the aperture. The larger the opening (represented by a smaller value), the more light can pass through it. The lens glass lets in 4% more light than the LG G6's f/1.8 lens, a minor victory that isn't immediately apparent from the specs sheet. LG has taken a novel approach to facilitate the manual camera settings by the average consumer when shooting still images. Choose from several pre-set manual controls based on common situations and environments; this makes it more accessible to people who aren't fluent in "photographer" jargon.

LG V30 Specifications

Show off some 18:9 action on a 6-inch QHD+ POLED (2,880 by 1,440). The Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 has an eight-core CPU running at 2.45 GHz. RAM: 4GB. Capacity, 64GB (expandable by a 128GB microSD card). Camera Back cameras measure in at 16 megapixels (f/1.6) and 13 megapixels (f/1.9) (wide-angle), while the front-facing shooter is only 5 megapixels. Features include a 3.5mm headphone jack, USB Type-C 3.1, NFC, and dual-band 802.11 A/b/g/n/ac WiFi with aptX. The item weighs a total of 158 grams. In addition, it has a fingerprint reader on the back and an IP68 rating and runs Android 7.1.2.

The most recent Snapdragon chip and 4GB of storage space are built into the device. In addition to its large 3300mAh battery, it also has 64GB of built-in memory that can be expanded to 2TB. And it's compatible with Google's Daydream VR platform, has IP 68 water resistance, and can recognize your face or voice. Every LG phone or tablet is a worthy alternative to the Galaxy S8 (which features the identical Snapdragon larger battery and the identical storage and RAM). Some caution should be exercised when comparing the LG device to Samsung's top-of-the-line offerings. It has a larger screen than Samsung's S8, but it's not any bigger than the S8+, and its battery life is on par with that of the V30.

LG V30 Hands-On Early Review

We can't shake the feeling that LG's V30 is familiar to us. Weare writing about this after LG V30 hands-on Review, but we will start from that LG will keep making the same mistakes that plagued the G6. The LG V30 still seems like a great choice for a flagship phone. It has an even more impressive 18:9 screen, the latest processor from Qualcomm, and a camera that surpasses even the best of its competitors. Its high price, however, makes it more expensive than the Galaxy S8, S8 Plus, and LG G6. It's a tough sell.

Camera: It's Complex

The Point Must Be Made Both of the LG V30's cameras are top-notch, allowing it to snap gorgeous pictures. You can zoom in and see less noise and the colours are more true than in the photos I took with the Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus. Extra megapixels (16 vs. 12) and a slightly larger aperture (f/1.6 vs. f/1.7) are responsible for this. During the day, the second LG wide-angle camera is superior because it captures more of the scene in each shot. With any other smartphone camera, you cannot achieve the same results:

Price

You're probably looking for the best specs immediately with an opening (and price) like that, and we're here to help. The good news is that LG has some of the most cutting-edge technology available in an Android phone today. OLED display, wireless charging, and two rear cameras are just a few features of the Snapdragon 835. The powerful 3300mAh battery and the high-quality Dual DAC are both contained within. The only difference is that Nexus-only features like Android 8.0 Oreo aren't available on other phones. Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, USB-C, a 3.5mm headphone jack, a fingerprint reader, and the ability to recognize your voice or face are all included. Gorilla Glass 5 and IP68 dust and water resistance are standard features, and you can get anything you want for Android or iOS. Gorilla Glass 5.

Conclusion

It's great that the LG V30 fits so much cutting-edge tech into such a compact package—or, you know, handprint. The V30 has a 6-inch Quad-HD (2560x1400) display and ultra-narrow bezels all the way around, making it one of the most pocket-friendly smartphones with a 6-inch screen. The 6-inch LG V30 is dwarfed by the 6.2-inch Samsung Galaxy S8+ and the 5.5-inch Google Pixel 2 XL.
